Membership Questions

Q:  What is your Baby Aquatics program?
A:  Our Baby Aquatics program is made up of two smaller programs: Mini 1 and Mini 2.  Our Mini 1 program is for students aged 4 to 15 months.  Our Mini 2 program is for students aged 16 to 35 months.

Q:  Do I have to be in the water with my child during the Mini 1 or Mini 2.
A:  Yes.  We require all students of the Mini 1 or Mini 2 program to be accompanied by one of their parents.

Q:  Do I have to be a member to participate in this program?
A:  Yes, family membership is required for this program.

Q:  How much does it cost to participate in the Baby Aquatics Mini 1 or Mini 2 program?
A:  It is $150 for 8 weeks.   

Q:  Can I schedule make-ups if I miss a session?
A:  No.  There are no make-up classes.​

Q:  What is the difference between private and semi-private?
A:  Our private lessons are one-on-one swim lessons where the student has been paired with a single swim instructor.  Our semi-private lessons are one-on-two swim lessons where two students are paired with a single swim instructor.

Q:  Can I share my semi-private lesson with a family friend’s child?
A:  Yes!  As long as the other family is also members, or the child is a member, then you can share your semi-private lessons.

Q:  Where can I find the prices for swim lessons?
A:  Our price list is located on the website.  Click the “Cyan Swimming” tab at the top.  On the upper-right side of the page, there is a bright orange button labeled “OPEN ENROLLMENT NOW”.  Under that button is our price list.

Q:  How often can I schedule? 
A:  You may schedule as often as you like!  We can schedule you once a week for a single month or for six months: whichever is more convenient for you!

Q:  How do I cancel or reschedule the swim lesson?
A:   If you need to reschedule or cancel your lessons, please call 425 867 2323 or email We require 24-hours in advance notice for any changes to the private and semi-private lessons. Any notice within the 24-hour range will be considered late cancel, and you will be charged the full price of your lesson fee. As a courtesy to our members, we offer ONE make-up lesson with no charge for every three months period.

Q: Can I book a makeup lesson? 

A: Makeup lesson is for emergency reasons. Allowed once in every 3 months. Need to book make up class in next 6 days before next regular recurring lesson and once the make up lesson booked you have to keep the next regular recurring lesson with the SAME instructor (depends on instructor availability).

Q:  How long are your private and semi-private swim lessons?
A:  Our swim lessons for both private and semi-private start at 30 minutes and can be extended to 45 minutes or for 60 minutes.

Q:  Do you do group classes?
A:  We at Cyan Swim Academy believe in one-on-one private swim lessons.  We do not offer a true group class where a single instructor is teaching more than three students.  However, we do have several other options that are close to it.  Our swim team is composed of multiple members who train as a group.  Our Baby Aquatics program is also comprised of multiple members who participate as a group.

Q:  What is the cost of a membership?
A:  There is a one-time initiation fee of $110.  There is a monthly fee of $38.5 for a single membership and $55 for a family membership. 

Q:  What is the cost to cancel the membership?
A:  There is none!  Our membership contracts are month-to-month and all we require is notified via email or in person to cancel.

Q:  Can you suspend a membership temporarily?
A:  Yes.  We can suspend a membership temporarily as long as the suspension exceeds one month.  Requested suspensions that do not exceed one months cannot be done.

Q:  Where are you located?
A:  Our address is 6601 132nd Ave NE Kirkland, WA 98033.  We are located within the Bridal Trails shopping center in the corner.  We are located right next to the Anytime Fitness Gym.

Q:  What are your hours?  
A:  Our hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Q:  Where can I find the schedule?
A:  Click on the "Cyan Swimming" tab.  In the upper right side of the page you'll see a large orange button that says, "Open Enrollment Now".  Below that is the “Cyan Swim Academy Price List” link and the “Programs schedule” link.

Q:  When is your open swim time?
A:  Our open swim time is for members between the hours of 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the weekends.  Adult swim time is for adult members only from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. during the week days. 

Q:  How old does my child have to be before I can start them on swim lessons?
A:  Ages 3 and up.

Q:  Can I swim with my child during open swim time even if we have a single membership?
A:  No, family members do not qualify as guests for open swim time.  Guests are friends of the family or the student.  Guests can pay a 10 dollar drop-in fee to swim whereas family members would require a family membership in order to participate in open swim time.

Swim Team Questions

Q:  Do you have a swim team? 
A:  We have a non-compete swim team.  Our swim team is a 45-minute training and conditioning session for members.  Members of our swim team train for their school swim team, for personal fitness, or for the pure fun and competitive nature of the sport.

Q:  Do I have to be a member to be part of swim team?
A:  Yes.  To be apart of the swim team you have to be a current member of Cyan Swim Academy.  The swim team meets twice to three times a week.

Q:  How does the Swim Team program work?
A:  To qualify for swim team the student must know at least three of the four basic strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and the butterfly stroke.  Students of the swim team can choose to attend twice or three times a week.

Q:  When does the swim team meet?
A:  The Swim Team practice Monday through Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Q:  How much does it cost for the Swim Team program?
A:  It is $320 for twice a week and $480 for three times a week for 8 weeks.

Q:  Do I have to follow the strict schedule with the Swim Team?
A:  No.  You may choose which two or three days a week the student can participate.

Q:  Do I get charged after every lesson?
A:  Yes and no.  We bill the account after every lesson and then charge the account via the credit card within your file at the 20th of the month.  

Q:  When do I get charged my monthly membership fee?
A:  We charge the monthly membership fee a month after your starting day.  For example: if you signed up for a membership on July 12 then you can expect a charge to the credit card on file on August 12.
